How to apply for a Passport or a Visa.

Mail-in Applications

ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD [CLICK BELOW] AND READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE NEW PASSPORT or NEW VISA APPLICATION PROCESS.

Please note that under the Immigration Rules, an applicant for an entry clearance must be in possession of all required documentation at the time of the application as we cannot accept incomplete applications. All forms MUST be double-checked completed legibly, and signed in all applicable locations. Original documents MUST be submitted.

Apply and pay using money order only, payable to  the Jamaica Consulate General - Miami.

Passport Applications

We will return your documents to you using USPS delivery, within ninety (90) days, provided that your application is properly completed. If for any reason additional information or documentation is required, this will delay the processing period beyond 90 days. You can receive updates from the office at any stage of the process, and get approximate dispatch date for Passport / or Visa including a USPS tracking number by contacting the following:

Visa Applications

Processed within Ten (10) business days provided all requirements are satisfied.

Mailing Guidelines

Please note that USPS will not deliver to P.O. Box numbers and a regular mailing address is required with Street Address &/or Apt Number, where applicable for the return of your documents.

Jamaican Passport /or Visas issuing office provides comprehensive information on what supporting documentation applicants should provide with their Passport /or Visa application. It is the applicant's responsibility to demonstrate to an Entry Clearance Officer that they meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules. Decisions are made based on the supporting  documents submitted and on the information provided in the application form, which the applicant declares to be true.

Walk-in

Apply and pay using cash / money order only, payable to the Jamaica Consulate General. We will return your original documents to you immediately. You can receive updates from the office at each stage of the process and get approximate dispatch date for Passport /or Visa including a USPS tracking number.

Your passport will be returned to you via USPS (Express Mail). Please note that USPS will not deliver to P.O. Box numbers and a regular mailing address is required with Street Address &/or Apt Number, where applicable for the return of your documents.

Visa's

Visas submitted via walk-in option are processed within 24-48 hrs depending on the country of citizenship. Please see list of countries for which the Consulate must receive the approval of the Passport, Immigration & Citizenship Agency (PICA) in Jamaica for the visa to be issued. This process takes 10 business days. Therefore, applicants holding a passport from one of these countries must apply two weeks in advance.
